About

Yasmin Barakat is a visual artist based in Cairo, Egypt.

Yasmins work is about the body. Through movement and painting she explores themes of rhythm, boundaries, and change. Yasmins visual language plays with ideas of memory and existence, how opposing matters can exist in one space as a form of balance. Painting to her is a trance only understanding the work after its complete, finding out different layers of her identity show up only when she fully lets go.
